Grading
All grading is done by TheMusic.com's expert curators. Grading is only done on a visual basis. We do not play any of the material; thus, we cannot audio grade. Therefore, we cannot guarantee sonics of any material. However, through a careful visual inspection our curators determine grading using the following scale:

SS still sealedthese are original factory seals and not rewraps
M minthardly played but open
M- mint-played some but not much, no visible marks from handling
VG+ very good+played but taken care of excellently
VG very goodplayed and may show some light wear
VG- very good-played and may have some very light surface scratches
G+ good+played and probably shows some wear and scratches
G goodto the point of well played and shows wear and scratches
G- good-getting to a lot of play and poor handling
F+ fair+heavy wear and scratches but probably doesn't skip
F fairheavy wear and surface noise, with scratches
F- fair-heavy wear and scratches that will probably cause skips

Order status and tracking
All orders will be processed and shipped in a timely manner depending on volume of orders and availability of titles. Same day shipping is not guaranteed.

Please visit the "View Orders" section when you log in to your account and click on the order in question to view status and/or tracking information if applicable. Please keep in mind that USPS Media Mail and DHL International Mail are both non-traceable forms of shipping.

1. Paying online with your Credit Card

All payments are made in U.S. dollars. To authorize your credit card, our system performs a systematic verification on every credit card that is entered in our site by drawing a total of $6.01 and immediately reimbursing it back. If your credit card is denied at the time of authorization, you will receive a message. If the credit card is denied during processing, you will be notified via email. We verify each credit card to protect our customers from credit card fraud. In some cases we will not accept a credit card as payment if there are certain discrepancies in the information. For example, the billing address you enter in your account must match exactly the address as it appears on your credit card billing statement. In these cases you will be contacted via email or by phone to make alternate payment arrangements. If we cannot contact you, the order will be cancelled.

We realize that some customers are concerned about Credit Card safety on line. We understand that concern, so we encrypt your Credit Card number and store it in a secure database protected by a firewall. The transmission of this information is also secure, using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology verified by Thawte.

2. Living outside the United States
We accept all International orders. International orders can be paid on-line with:

All payments are made in U.S. dollars. When paying by Credit Card your credit card company will calculate the exchange rate and include it in your monthly statement. We do verify each credit card to protect our customers from credit card fraud. In some cases we will not accept a credit card as payment if there are certain discrepancies in the information. In these cases you will be contacted via email or by phone to make alternate payment arrangements. If we cannot contact you, the order will be cancelled.

3. Buying or paying offline with a Credit Card
In order to prevent identity theft fraud, we do not accept credit card payments via e-mail or telephone. All credit card orders are processed through our secure gateway, online. If you're concerned about entering your payment info onto a website, then your only option is to order and pay with a Money Order. See below.

4. Buying and paying offline with a Money Order
You can pay with a money order, but you will need to register and place an order online. When, in the process, you're asked for your credit card information press the "Skip" button. This will automatically delegate all your orders to be paid by Money Order. Finish the "Check Out" process and print your confirmed order. You will need to print that order and mail it (along with the Money Order) to:

You will still need to fill in your billing information in case we need to contact you for any reason. We cannot process your order until after we've received your payment and our bank has cleared it. Availability is subject to change. Items cannot be reserved for pending mail orders.





Shipping options
TheMusic.com can ship items just about anywhere in the world. However, please keep in mind that some countries outside of the U.S. may not allow certain items into the country. All international duties and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. Your shipping cost will be calculated during checkout process.

1. Insured vs. Uninsured Shipping
If you select an uninsured shipping service, you agree that TheMusic.com is not responsible for lost or damaged items sent via this shipping service. In the event that you receive damaged product(s) during insured shipping or that your insured shipment has been lost, a claim will be filed on your behalf with the freight carrier. Replacements will be sent via the same carrier once the claim has been settled. Please note that if a product is damaged due to shipping, the original packaging must be saved and may be requested by the freight carrier for pick-up and examination. For insured shipments, if a product cannot be replaced, you will be given the option to choose another product of equal value as a replacement or be granted a refund.

All sales are FINAL. No refunds.

New Software Product (CDs, DVDs vinyl, etc.)

No returns or exchanges will be accepted on open product that is not defective. TheMusic.com reserves the right to deem what is defective and what is not. TheMusic.com will replace a manufacturer's defective disc within 60 days of shipment date with a pre-checked, non-defective disc of the same title. The customer is responsible for shipping back the item to us. A replacement will be sent via USPS Media Mail for domestic orders and via DHL Priority Mail for all international orders.

If deemed not defective, TheMusic.com will return your item to you explaining why we have reached such a decision. In the event TheMusic.com is unable to replace a defective disc with the same title, a credit for exchange will be given toward other product(s) in TheMusic.com current catalog.

All other returns and exchanges must be approved by a customer service representative and must be in new condition, accompanied with a note that includes the Invoice Number and precise reason for the return. Used Software (Vinyl, CDs, etc.)

Used products are sold as is and based on the grading system. In the event that an ordered product is no longer available, your order will be adjusted and any appropriate refunds will be issued.

Test Pressings

Due to the rare nature of these products, Test Pressings are sold as is. No returns or exchanges.

Hardware Equipment (This policy excludes software [CDs, LPs, DVDs, etc.])

Merchandise may be returned for refund or replacement:

a) within 30 days of the original invoice date for a refund, or

b) within 30 days of the original invoice date for a replacement (or repair) of the same item, at the discretion of TheMusic.com.

All returns require an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. Returns sent to TheMusic.com’s warehouse without having been assigned an RMA number will not be accepted.

All items returned for a refund are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

All items returned must be in the same condition as when sold in original carton with all original packaging and accessories, or additional fees will be levied.

After this 30-day period, manufacturers’ warranty terms and conditions will apply, with replacement or repair then at the discretion of the manufacturer or distributor.

Other situations with specific details that differ from these basic situations above will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

NOTE: In all cases involving the return of products, shipping charges (both to and from the customer) are totally at the expense of the customer, and are not refundable.

TheMusic.com will cancel any Pay Pal orders that have not been paid within 21 days. All unpaid orders with Money Order as selected method of payment will be canceled within 30 days.

Creating a user account by registering is a required step in the order placement process. Registering provides access to stored information such as frequent shipping addresses you set up and wish lists. It just makes your shopping experience a little less hassle free.
